As nurses we are concerned about everyone’s well-being and committed to ensuring the health and safety of our communities. We are closely monitoring and assessing the impact of the coronavirus COVID-19. Due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus, we are now in a national emergency as stated by the 45th president of the United States.
"Out of an abundance of caution” and our commitment to protecting the health and safety of our supporters we are postponing “The Masquerade Ball” scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2020.
When events get cancelled, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) calls it “social distancing.” It is a measure that is taken to restrict when and where people gather to stop or slow the spread of infectious diseases. (You may learn more at http://www.floridahealth.gov/)
Our members were polled on this guidance and there was overwhelming support for the recommendations. We apologize for the inconvenience. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. We truly appreciate your support of the scholarship fundraiser and ask that you please bare with us during this unpredictable time.
We want to assure you that we are continuing to work to bring you a fabulous “Masquerade Ball” experience soon! We are constantly monitoring this very fluid situation and we will keep you informed.
Please make sure you’re following the advice given by our Florida Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for stopping the spread of germs and viruses. There is a tremendous amount of misinformation being spread, particularly on the internet and through some social media channels, so please use trusted sources of information.
Remain safe, stay informed, stay vigilant and be prepared!
Thanks so much!
